株式会社アトム（本社：東京都千代田区　代表取締役社長：青井茂、以下当社）は、東京・広尾の複合文化施設「コートヤードHIROO」にて、森内敬子の個展を開催いたします。森内敬子（1943年～）は、1960年代初頭の戦後日本における実験的な美術運動の中で頭角を現し、60年以上にわたり第一線で活動を続けるアーティストです。
Courtyard HIROO is pleased to present a solo exhibition by Keiko Moriuchi. Keiko Moriuchi (b. 1943) rose to prominence during the experimental art movements of postwar Japan in the early 1960s and has remained active at the forefront of the art world for over 60 years.
 
 
1960年代、学生主導のアートサークルでキャリアをスタートさせた森内は、弱冠20代で東京の「内科画廊」などの重要拠点で個展を開催し、早くから注目を集めました。1963年からは具体美術協会の創設者・吉原治良に師事。1965年には吉原の勧めでニューヨークへ渡り、イサム・ノグチやアド・ラインハート、マン・レイら国際的なアヴァンギャルドの巨匠たちと交流を深めました。1968年には、吉原の直接の招きにより、具体美術協会の最後を飾る作家として加入します。

彼女の作品は、蓄積、反復、祈り、そして層状の素材を通じ、宇宙論やエネルギー、精神性といった根源的なテーマを一貫して探究してきました。具体派時代の西洋の美術史と東洋の精神性を対話させて視覚言語として見せるアバンギャルドな実験、アンフォルメルなど代表的な戦後西洋美術史から素材思考のポスト・ミニマリズムとの共鳴まで、彼女の歩みは美術史的にも時代を反映する現代アートとしての役割を鑑賞者に訴えます。

本展では、初期の画期的な試みから、80代を迎えた今もなお衰えることのない情熱で生み出される最新の探求まで、稀有な連続性を持って紡がれる森内敬子の世界をご紹介いたします。この機会にぜひご高覧くださいませ。
 
Moriuchi began her career in the 1960s within student-led art collectives and, while still in her early twenties, held solo exhibitions at influential venues such as the “Naika Gallery” in Tokyo, gaining acclaim from an early stage. From 1963, she studied under Jiro Yoshihara, founder of the Gutai Art Association. In 1965, at Yoshihara’s urging, she traveled to New York, where she deepened her connections with international avant-garde masters such as Isamu Noguchi, Ad Reinhardt, and Man Ray. In 1968, at Yoshihara’s direct invitation, she joined the Gutai Art Association as the artist marking its final chapter.
Through accumulation, repetition, prayer, and layered materials, her work has consistently explored fundamental themes such as cosmology, energy, and spirituality. From avant-garde experiments that create a visual language by bringing the Western art history of the Gutai era into dialogue with Eastern spirituality, to the resonance between material-oriented post-minimalism and representative postwar Western art movements such as Art Informel, her artistic journey reflects the spirit of the times through an art-historical lens.
This exhibition introduces the world of Keiko Moriuchi, woven with a rare sense of continuity-from her groundbreaking early experiments to her latest explorations, created with a passion that remains undiminished even as she enters her 80s.
