NHK Technologies to Exhibit at SXSW 2026, Collaborates with Chiaki Mayumura
NHKテクノロジーズ（東京：渋谷区）は「8K:VR Theater」(サカナクション)「8K:VR Ride」(サザンオールスターズ)」「８K:VR Interactive」（悲しみの国のアリス）を制作した８K:VRプロジェクトの第四弾として今回トイズファクトリー所属のアーティスト「眉村ちあき」とコラボして新たな映像コンコンテンツ「Immersive Music Exclusive Experience/Shibuya Free Fall(渋谷ふりーふぉーる)」を制作。ちがいを力に変える街「渋谷」をテーマにした体感型コンテンツを3月12日からアメリカテキサス州オースティンで開催されるSXSW2026にて世界初公開を行います。
 
今回はApple Vision Proをメインディバイスとし、ブラックマジックデザイン社製の「Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive」カメラで撮影した180度8K3D映像と立体音響、そして新しい試みとして音楽を体感できるディバイスを追加し、新たな音楽の体験を会場で行います。今回制作したコンテンツはAmpliumをはじめDEO VRなど様々な配信プラットフォームでも順次配信いたします。さらにSXSWの会場ではVR映像コンテンツに匂いを追加した新たな体験コンテンツも展示しております。

NHK Technologies, Inc. (Shibuya, Tokyo) has produced the 8K:VR Project titles
“8K:VR Theater” (Sakanaction), “8K:VR Ride” (Southern All Stars), and “8K:VR Interactive”
(Alice in the Country of Sorrow). As the fourth installment of this project, NHK Technologies
has collaborated with Toy’s Factory artist Chiaki Mayumura to create a new immersive video
experience, Immersive Music Exclusive Experience/Shibuya FreeFall (“Shibuya Free fall”). The experiential content, themed around Shibuya-the city that turns differences into strength-
will premiere globally at SXSW 2026, held in Austin, Texas, starting March 12, 2026.
 
This time, Apple Vision Pro will be used as the main device, featuring 180-degree 8K 3D
immersive video captured with Blackmagic Design’s Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive camera,
along with spatial audio. In addition, as a new initiative, we will introduce a device that allows audiences to physically experience music, creating a new kind of music experience at the
venue.
The newly produced content will be released sequentially on multiple distribution platforms, including Amplium and DeoVR. In addition, NHK Technologies will showcase a new experiential exhibit at SXSW that adds scent to VR video content.

At SXSW 2026, I’ll be going in as a digital Chiaki Mayumura!
Out of all the VR and VR-like experiences I’ve seen so far, this is by far the highest quality-so real it literally makes my heart race.
I never imagined my music video could take shape like this, and I’m truly, deeply honored. At the same time, it fills me with the determination that I have to spread this song even further!
It made me realize, in the best possible way, that the world is overflowing with unbelievable technology and ideas. We’ve created a masterpiece so powerful it makes you collapse to your knees in awe.
